A lovely family based in Limehouse, just a short walk from the DLR, is looking for a warm, reliable and engaging after-school nanny to care for their delightful little girl from the end of August / beginning of September 2026.
Job Overview
- Location: Limehouse, London (near DLR)
- Start Date: End of August / September 2026
- Schedule: Monday to Thursday, 3:20 pm – 6:20 pm
- Hours: 12 hours per week
- Flexibility: Four afternoons per week (days can be discussed)
- Salary: £24 gross per hour
- Contract: Until July 2027, with the possibility of a longer-term position
About the Child
You will be caring for a happy, curious and easy-going little girl who is an only child. She loves learning, playing and exploring new activities. She will be starting Year 1 in September at a local English school within walking distance of the family home. Born in England, she already speaks a little French and would benefit from continued exposure to the language.
Responsibilities
Your duties will include:
- Collecting the child from school
- Planning fun, creative and age-appropriate activities
- Supporting homework and learning where appropriate
- Preparing a healthy afternoon snack
- Light cooking (a bonus but not essential)
- Creating a safe, warm and nurturing environment that encourages confidence and development
School Holidays
During school half-term holidays, the family will require full-day childcare instead of the usual after-school hours.
The Ideal Nanny
The family is looking for someone who is:
- Warm, caring and dependable
- Energetic and engaging
- A French speaker (preferred), although excellent English will also be considered
- Experienced in caring for school-aged children
- Looking for a regular afternoon role (ideal for a university student or someone seeking part-time hours)
