About the Family
Petit Monde Agency is recruiting an experienced, nurturing and enthusiastic French-speaking Nanny for a lovely family based in Southwark, London.
The family has two children, including a baby boy who will be 9 months old at the start of the position and a school-aged girl.
The family is seeking a reliable and proactive professional who can provide attentive care for the baby during the day and support the older child with her after-school routine.
The family home is conveniently located near Southwark Station, with the school only a five-minute walk away. There are several local parks and activities nearby, providing excellent opportunities for outdoor play and educational outings.
Working Hours
The position offers approximately 27 hours per week, structured as follows:
- Monday: Full-day childcare, flexible between 8:00 am and 6:00 pm
- Tuesday: Full-day childcare, flexible between 8:00 am and 6:00 pm
- Wednesday: Day off
- Thursday: 3:00 pm–6:30 pm
- Friday: 3:00 pm–6:30 pm
During school holidays, the schedule may vary, and some flexibility will be required.
The exact distribution of the 27 weekly hours will be agreed with the family.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide attentive, loving and developmentally appropriate care for the baby.
- Support the baby’s feeding, sleeping and daily routines.
- Encourage early development through sensory play, reading, music and age-appropriate activities.
- Collect the older child from school, located approximately five minutes from the family home.
- Organise engaging after-school activities.
- Plan outdoor outings, including visits to local parks and child-friendly activities.
- Prepare healthy meals and snacks for the children.
- Maintain a tidy and organised environment in the children’s areas.
- Encourage French language development through everyday conversation, reading and play.
- Ensure the children’s safety, happiness and overall well-being.
Candidate Requirements
- Fluent French speaker – essential.
- Previous professional nanny experience, particularly with babies and young children.
- Warm, caring, patient and reliable personality.
- Proactive, organised and confident working independently.
- Ability to plan stimulating and educational activities.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Up-to-date Enhanced DBS check or willingness to obtain one.
- Paediatric First Aid certification.
- Excellent, verifiable childcare references.
- Flexibility to accommodate changes during school holidays.
