Petit Monde Agency is looking for a warm, creative and engaging French-speaking Tutor/Mentor for an 11-year-old girl who is starting Year 7 this September.
Location: West Hampstead / Kilburn, NW6
Child: One girl, 11 years old
Schedule: Once a week
Hours: 1.5 hours per week
Availability: Weekday after school or Saturday morning
Salary: £30 per hour
Other: The family has cats
ABOUT THE ROLE
The family is English-speaking and their daughter attends an English school. She already has some exposure to French, but the family is not looking for traditional or highly academic French tuition.
Instead, they would like to find someone who can help her develop a genuine interest in the French language and, in particular, build her confidence with reading in French.
The sessions should combine educational support with fun, creative and practical activities. These could include reading together in French, conversation and vocabulary development, cooking or baking, games, creative projects and discovering French language and culture through activities based around her interests.
She is academically confident in English and will also be starting Spanish at secondary school. The family would therefore like her French sessions to remain enjoyable, accessible and different from a traditional school lesson.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
The family is looking for someone enthusiastic, patient and creative who can build a positive relationship with their daughter and make her look forward to her weekly French sessions.
The ideal candidate will be able to adapt activities to her interests and naturally introduce French through conversation, reading and practical activities.
Previous experience working with children of a similar age would be appreciated, particularly in tutoring, education, mentoring or language learning.
This is a lovely opportunity for someone who enjoys teaching French in a relaxed, creative and engaging way.
