The Role
A lovely family based in Oxfordshire, OX12 is looking for a warm, engaging and proactive Nanny to support their two homeschooled children, aged 4 and 10.
The family is looking for someone who can provide excellent childcare while creating a nurturing, stimulating and positive environment that supports the children’s learning, development and emotional wellbeing.
As both children are homeschooled, the role would particularly suit a nanny who enjoys creating educational opportunities naturally throughout the day. This may include reading, creative activities, exploring nature, outings, interesting conversations, games and activities designed around the children’s individual interests.
The family is not necessarily looking for a traditional teacher, but rather someone curious, imaginative and enthusiastic who can make everyday experiences engaging and enriching.
One of the children has SEND needs, so previous SEND experience would be highly desirable. The nanny should be patient, emotionally aware and comfortable adapting their approach to the individual needs of each child.
The younger boy is full of energy and life, so someone active and enthusiastic who enjoys getting involved in activities and spending time outdoors would be particularly well suited to the position.
Working Arrangements
The position is approximately 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with typical hours of around 10:00am–5:00pm.
The family is primarily considering a live-in nanny and is offering £600–£700 gross per week depending on experience.
A live-out arrangement may also be considered for an excellent candidate who already lives locally, at £22 gross per hour.
There may occasionally be a requirement for weekend support, which would be arranged in advance with the nanny.
The Ideal Candidate
The family is looking for someone warm, patient, reliable and genuinely passionate about working with children. The successful candidate will be proactive and creative, comfortable supporting homeschooled children and confident creating a stimulating environment through activities, conversation, nature and everyday learning opportunities.
Ofsted registration is required for this position. Previous experience supporting children with SEND, homeschooling or in a governess-style position would be particularly advantageous.
This is a long-term opportunity for a nanny looking to build a meaningful relationship with a family and play an important role in the children’s everyday lives.
