FRENCH TUTOR

Petit Monde Agency is looking for a warm, creative and engaging French-speaking tutor for an 11-year-old girl who is starting Year 7 this September.

Location: West Hampstead / Kilburn, NW6
Age: 11-year-old girl – starting Year 7
Schedule: Once a week
Hours: 1.5 hours per week
Days: Weekday after school or Saturday morning
Salary: £30 per hour
Start: September
Pets: Cats in the home
Reference: NW6-01

About the Role

The family is English-speaking and their daughter attends an English school. They are not looking for additional formal or academic tuition.

Instead, they would like to find someone who can help her develop a genuine interest in French and, particularly, build her confidence with reading and speaking the language.

The sessions should be engaging, relaxed and enjoyable, combining French learning with fun and practical activities based around her interests.

Activities could include reading together in French, conversation and vocabulary, cooking or baking in French, games, creative activities and practical projects, as well as discovering more about French language and culture.

About the Child

She is a bright and academically confident 11-year-old who will be starting Year 7 in September. She will also begin learning Spanish at secondary school, so the family is particularly keen for her French sessions to feel enjoyable, accessible and different from a traditional school lesson.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for an enthusiastic, patient and creative French speaker who enjoys working with children and can build a positive relationship with her.

The right person will be able to make French engaging and relevant to her interests, encouraging her to speak and read with greater confidence while making each weekly session something she looks forward to.

Previous experience tutoring, teaching or working with children of this age would be appreciated.
